I got to spend some time with my doggo today.  She went with me to work for an hour or so, then we stopped by a shopping center that had a pet friendly pet store, so I took her in for some socialization, and to pick out a toy.  I don’t know if she has ever had the opportunity to pick her own toys.  We got her just over a year ago from the city animal shelter.  She had been found wandering the streets, adopted, and then returned, because she chased the resident cat.  She was just a pup with no training, so I’m not surprised she chased the cat, but I am forever grateful that she did, because if she hadn’t, she wouldn’t have picked me the day I met her at the shelter.

She didn’t find a toy that spoke to her today, so I grabbed a replacement for a squeaky ball that she has been abusing with great joy since Christmas.  She loves things that squeak, and she had basically squeaked the original ball to death, so I thought getting her a replacement would be fun.  Well, it was, for about three squeaks, and then the little thing that makes the squeaky noise came loose inside of the ball.  Talk about a disappointment.  The thing is, she didn’t care.  She was still just as happy to have the ball when it wasn’t squeaking, as she was when it did squeak (three whole times…lol).

A little while later, we were back at the office, and I let her out in her run.  I can see her out in it from my desk, and I noticed a lot of splashing coming from her pool, so I hopped up to see what she was doing.  When she saw me, she jumped out of the pool, did a zoomie loop, hopped up on her lounge chair, launched into the pool, and laid down and stretched out like, “man, my life is good”.

I want to be my dog when I grow up…lol.

If you are looking for me, I will be the one with my hands stuffed inside of a rubber ball, trying to put the squeaky thing back in place, and trying to find the joy in life that my dog does.

Much love to all of you, with Hope and Faith
