One of the biggest turning points for me, was when I realized that “bad things” weren’t happening to me - they were happening for me.  I still don’t always know why they happen, or why they last as long as they do, and there are still different levels of “bad” in the things that happen…lol…but once I realized that there was a lesson to be learned, and it wasn’t some sort of punishment, I started to see things in a new light.

Let go, let God.  That’s the most basic way I can explain it.  I stopped waiting for the next “bad thing”, and instead began actively looking for the good, and letting God worry about the rest.  For example, five years ago, I would not have been able to handle what I am rolling with on the daily right now.  My financial situation sucks big hairy gopher d!ck at the moment.  I have done all that I can in my power to rectify that, and yet, the problem persists.  Every time I think things are about to turn the corner, a new bump pops up in the road.  I am living in OCD Hell, feeling as if I have lost control of the things that matter most to me, and I am being forced to face fears that I have lived with my entire life, but instead of curling up into the fetal position and praying that it passes, I am instead facing those fears head on, and I doing my best to conquer them.  Have I been successful?  Meh…lol…if I am being honest, I would say it’s 50/50 right now.  I have definitely gotten past some of the things that used to cripple me, but most days are still an uphill battle.  But maybe that’s the point?  I am actively trying to learn to better manage my stress, and my emotions, and perhaps that’s the lesson that I need to learn?  Only time will tell, and if that’s not the lesson, I hope I figure out what the lesson is pretty quickly, because this stuff is exhausting…lol!

Apparently, I am not the only one that had the “happens for me and not to me” epiphany.  Tricia Aldridge is a barrel racer that has gained quite a following with her horse Adios Pantalones.  She has chosen to share her journey, and the challenges that she has had to overcome to get to where she is, and she encourages her followers to work hard to achieve their goals as well, just like she has. Tricia chooses to uplift people, even people who are trying to drag her down, and I truly admire her for that.

I would like to share this Reel with you that she posted today, discussing her take on it “happens for me”…

…this resonates with me, because I also believe that God uses closed doors to open windows for us, and like Tricia, I am sometimes just too stubborn to notice the open window!

How many of you can relates to this?  Do you sometimes find yourself so set on something, that you ignore the signs that God is sending to you, that are pointing you in another direction?

Remember, there is value in unanswered prayers.  Though our human hearts sometimes struggle with them, only God knows his plan for us, and what we need to experience to get there.

My hope is that we can all get past these challenges, to find and peacefully walk our Divine path 💕, and the sooner we can all get there, the better!

Much love to all of you, with Hope and Faith!
