Hearing that was the catalyst for my Spiritual journey.
If you started at the beginning with me, you know that we are energy, and that energy cannot be created or destroyed, so where do “we” go when our bodies die? I was taught that we either go to Heaven or to Hell, depending on how we have lived our lives, but what if it is a bit more complex than that?
It wasn’t until my sister-in-law passed away unexpectedly in the mid 20 teens, that I began to dig a little deeper into it. A few days after she passed, my husband was in a bad car accident. We received the coroner’s report confirming her cause of death a couple of months later, and a few days after that, he was in another bad car accident. He and his sister were not on the best of terms when she passed. He genuinely cared for her, and he wanted her to get the help that she needed, so he would not allow her to manipulate him to get what she wanted, like most of the other people in her life did, so I was afraid that this was her, somehow taking out her anger on him.
I made my first appointment with a medium after the second accident. I had been to a group reading years earlier, but I was unimpressed with that experience…lol…and a bit skeptical about trying it again, but I was being unexplainably drawn to do this. I did some research, and it was obvious from the moment I came across the Reverand Willa White, a registered Lily Dale medium, that she was the one I was meant to sit down with. The title quote is hers. Another in a long list of experiences that I cannot explain, since I no longer believe in coincidences, so I have no option but to believe that it was Divine intervention.
I did the reading, and it was the most amazing, enlightening, emotional, enjoyable, draining forty-five minutes of my life. I was blessed to connect with my paternal grandpa (who passed just before my seventh birthday, but had been my very best friend up until then), my husband’s grandmother, and my many great’s grandmother who I bear a striking resemblance to (according to my grandmother, who was her direct descendant) and share a name with.
That reading was what actually began to draw me closer to God. Who, but God, could create such an amazing universe, where we get to enjoy the human experience, while being watched over and guided by the people who love us most, and who were also created by God and in his image, like we all are?
And before you go all, “that’s demonic” or “that’s sacrilegious”, I get it. The Bible strictly warns against consulting mediums, avoiding witchcraft, casting spells, etc. God tells us that he is a jealous God in both Exodus and Deuteronomy, so no, we should not seek spiritual guidance from anyone but God, but God does not demonize or destroy the people who have these gifts, he simply says that we should not worship or pray to them. My reading was not about guidance; it was about finding peace and the understanding that there was SO much more to life than what I believed there to be at that time.
The Bible, does however, suggest that intuition is a gift from God! The word intuition isn’t specifically used, but it is that voice in our head, or that gut instinct, that can help us determine God’s will for us, when we learn how to tune in and trust the guidance that we are being given. I won’t list every example of scripture that relates to this here, but I will provide links to two websites that dive into it, to help you to better understand where I am coming from:

I am still learning how to pray, how to trust my inner voice, and how to discern when it is truly intuition and guidance from God, versus imagination and my own brain getting in the way…lol…but I have whole heartedly given my life to God, knowing that he will lead me to and walk with me along my Divine Path. I pray for strength and guidance multiple times per day, and although there are still a number of difficulties in my life, I have learned to be grateful for the good things, the little things, the things that get me through the day, because every day is a gift, once you open your heart and can see the beauty in the little things.
Next up, is the science that is out there proving that Jesus was real, that Heaven could exist, and that there is something greater than any of us can imagine behind it all (aka God…lol).
Until then, much love to all of you, with Hope and Faith!
