My parents started foster parenting when I was in my teens. They provided a home to many children over the years – some short term, some longer – but one thing I can say with certainty, is that my mom did her best to be a mother to each and every kid that stepped through her door. So, today, I want to wish each and every one of you who has ever nurtured, protected and defended, offered guidance to, or simply loved another, a very Happy Mother’s Day. Old or young, two legged or four, regardless of who or what, you still deserve to be appreciated for the good you brought into that life, and into the world as a whole.
